United Way’s Youth Relations Strategy encourages young volunteers to sharpen their leadership skills through a series of youth engagement activities and programs driven by the Youth Relations Council. United Way’s youth volunteers work to inspire, foster and celebrate youth leadership by guiding the youth strategy to assist United Way in achieving its mission.
We are currently recruiting youth volunteers to join the youth relations strategy.
Applications for 2009-2010 Council positions will be accepted until Monday October 12, 2009.
Role of United Way Youth Council Members
- meet monthly to share ideas and address tasks
- contribute youth perspective to United Way
- plan, organize and participate in youth initiated events
- review Youth Connections Grant applications
- present workshops
- participate in recognition events
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- demonstrate capacity to guide and motivate others
- commitment to serving and improving your community
- ingenuity and a talent for implementing new ideas

The Youth Relations Strategy organizes its volunteers to ensure all responsibilities are fulfilled. The selection committee will make the appropriate matches with new volunteers.
