Youth Connections 010The 2009 Home Improvement Project was driven by the Grade 12 Career Quest class at Miles Macdonell Collegiate. Each year, the team invites homeowners with low income living in the Elmwood and East Kildonan communities to submit applications to have the exterior of their home renovated. The students took full responsibility for developing the criteria to select the house and the renovations are completed with no cost to the homeowner. The project aims to connect youth with people in need and instill a sense of community and pride through the work they do.
