Holiday season is almost over, but there’s still a lot of winter left!
We hope everyone has had a great break and has been able to stay warm! Now that the New Year is here, we can start making plans and getting involved.
In partnership with Koats for Kids, we are looking for approximately 10 youth volunteers to collect winter wear donations at the Festival du Voyageur’s opening night, Friday, February 13th, from 6 pm- 8:30 pm.
It has been known to be quite a fun evening, no matter what the weather!
The Koats for Kids program collects and distributes gently-used winter outerwear, free of charge, to Winnipeg children and their families. This year marks the program’s 20th anniversary. Since 1989, close to 120 000 articles of winter outerwear have been distributed throughout the city.
Here’s a picture of the group that volunteered last year:

If you would like to be a volunteer, please contact Leigh-Anne at United Way (477-5360 extension 232 or lbowles[at]unitedwaywinnipeg.mb.ca).
