In the video below, Mike, Kathy and Ashley talk about why it’s important for youth to volunteer. All three are former recipients of United Way’s Student Community Service Award. Kathy was St. Norbert Collegiate’s selection for 2008. Ashley was Sisler High School’s recipient in 2002, and Mike received his award at St. Paul’s High School in 2003.
Ashley, who just graduated from Pharmacy at U of M last spring, has been involved with United Way of Winnipeg for five years. Why is she involved? Here are her own words: “I think it’s very important to give back to the community, and to take the opportunity to inspire other young leaders.”
