Winnipeggers have raised just over $16.2 million for the community this year. That leaves another $1.5 million to raise before mid-January, when this year’s campaign ends.
Every dollar counts, and Winnipeg students have been helping to raise money by organizing special events and filling buckets with loose change. If you’re interested in organizing a fundraiser (and you have permission from your principal), we’d love to hear from you!
All of the money raised in Winnipeg stays in Winnipeg. It’s invested in strategies that help children and youth achieve their potential, promote financial independence, and improve neighbourhood health and personal well-being. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a great example of the kind of organization United Way is working with – so are Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg, YMCA-YWCA, and the International Centre.
Give us a call at 477-5360 (ask for Leigh-Anne) if you want to learn more about United Way and how you can help raise some of the $1.5 million that’s needed to continue the work that’s leading to better lives for everyone in Winnipeg.
