Raising money for the community is a challenge, but it’s also a lot of fun. On September 21st, we kicked off United Way’s 2007 Campaign in style. Plane Pull IV: Only Everyone brought almost 1500 people together to compete in two categories – competitive teams got to pull a Boeing 727, while teams that were out to have some fun got to pull a McDonnel Douglas DC-9.
Before the Plane Pull, Heather Grant-Jury (United Way’s 2007 Campaign Chair) announced that this year’s fundraising goal is almost $16.5 million!
Every year, high school and university students organize special events to raise money for United Way. We appreciate your efforts. Every single dollar counts – all of the money raised goes toward United Way’s work in the community.
If you’re a student and you’re interested in putting on some kind of fundraising event, check out our Student Fundraising page. We’ve created a Student Campaign Guide that will help you plan a successful event.
If you want to run an idea past us, or if you have any questions, feel free to call Tamara Peralta, United Way’s Manager of Youth Relations, at 477-5360.
